What you will have at the endA monitor that extracts content from a specific section rather than the entire page.
Before you start
You need a valid CSS selector for an element that exists on the source page. If you are new to selectors, try a simple element such as main before using a more specific class.
Find the section you care about
Open the source page and identify the content that should be monitored. Page menus, footers, and unrelated announcements can add noise. The current app accepts a CSS selector; it does not include a visual point-and-click selector.
Add a selector
Edit the monitor, open Advanced settings, and enter a selector. It must match the source website’s actual markup; example class names are not universal. Leave the field empty to capture the whole page.
main #pricing .job-list
Match the checking method
For public checks, the section must exist in the downloaded HTML. If it only appears after JavaScript runs or after login, use browser mode. Enter the same selector under Choose a page section in the browser helper.
Check and inspect the snapshot
Saving a new selector resets the baseline. Run a check and read the latest snapshot to confirm it includes the intended content. A selector that matches nothing produces a check error; it does not silently save an empty baseline.
